Prehistory
Lovers of wide open spaces steeped in history and prehistoric enthusiasts are in the right place. Indeed, a few kilometers from our establishment, you will be at the Grotte de Rouffignac, the so-called “100 mammoths” cave. Located in Montignac, visit the Grotte de Lascaux 4, one of the most famous prehistoric caves in the world. To observe the underground world, by boat or on foot, we invite you to go to the Gouffre de Proumeyssac and the Gouffre de Padirac.
The castles
The Dordogne Valley is renowned for hosting a large number of exceptional castles. We advise you to visit the Château de l'Herm, a site that will charm you with its authenticity. Continue with the Château de Castelnaud, an essential place for lovers of the Middle Ages. End with the Château des Milandes, the former castle of Joséphine Baker. Do not miss the Maison Forte de Reignac, a "Château-Cliff" that will surprise you. The region is full of museums, don't miss the Musée du Chai de Lardimalie and the National Museum of Prehistory in Les Eyzies.

We advise you to start by visiting the Jardin du manoir d'Eyrignac, a natural gem. You will appreciate the different spaces, but also the exhibitions. Continue your discovery of the natural spaces of Périgord Noir with the Jardin de Marqueyssac. Discover the 6 kilometers of walks bordered by more than 150,000 box trees, belvederes, rockeries and stone huts.
The villages
In less than an hour, you will be in the most beautiful towns of the Dordogne. Start your journey with a visit to Sarlat with its rich historical heritage which has been the location of many films, but also with its panoramic lift which offers a superb view of the city. Continue with the discovery of Périgueux, labeled "City of Art and History", and its many monuments: the Saint-Front Cathedral, the Mataguerre tower, the Museum of Art and Archeology of Périgord and the Vesunna Museum . End with a visit to Bergerac, which will charm you with its old town, its Maison des Vins, the National Museum of Tobacco and its market on Saturday morning.
Activities
If you are staying with children in our family hotel in the Périgord Noir, we invite you to go to the equestrian center of Sardin, at Call of the Forest (tree climbing in Thenon), at the Aquarium in Le Bugue sur Vézère with more than 6,000 fish, at Aquacap a nautical complex 25 minutes away, at Village du Bournat for live like in 1900 or take part in a treasure hunt with “Au Fil du Temps”. The region has no shortage of hikes and walks to do on foot, by bike, by boat (on the Dordogne in Gabare < /a>and canoe-kayak rental) or by car (les Rallyes de la Marterie).
